Clinic Doctors | Uveitis

Uveitis is an inflammation of the uveal tract, which lines the inside of the eye behind the cornea. The uveal tract is made up of the iris, which is the colored part of the eye, the choroids which helps nourish part of the retina and the ciliary body which produces fluid inside the eye and regulates muscles that help the eye to focus. Uveitis can result from trauma, allergy or a response to a systemic or ocular disease. Treatment by an ophthalmologist may include topical and oral medications or steroid injections. The prognosis of uveitis depends upon the location of the condition, on whether it is chronic or acute and on the promptness of treatment.
