David K. Gieser, M.D.

David K. Gieser, M.D., certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, specializes in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma. Dr. Gieser is a graduate of the University of Illinois Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine in Chicago. His internship at Hines Veterans Administration Hospital in Chicago was followed by a residency at the Eye and Ear Infirmary of the University of Illinois. Dr. Gieser completed a fellowship in glaucoma at Washington University in St. Louis.
Dr. Gieser is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, and served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Deicke Center for Visual Rehabilitation in Wheaton, Illinois for 14 years.
Dr. Gieser has published numerous medical journal articles and has lectured to physicians on various aspects of the diagnosis, medical treatment, and surgical intervention in the management of glaucoma internationally, as well as at ophthalmology meetings nationally. Dr. Gieser’s particular research interest is the pharmacological management of glaucoma and he has served as a principal investigator for several pharmaceutical companies in the development of new medications. He also has served on the Vision Rehabilitation Committee of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Gieser is a member of the American Medical Association, the Illinois State Medical Society, the DuPage County Medical Society, the Christian Medical Dental Society, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the Chicago Ophthalmology Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
