 Robert M. Grohe, O.D., certified by the Illinois Board of Optometric Examiners, specializes in working with patients whose complex medical condition such as keratoconus, extreme astigmatism or post corneal surgery require complex contact fitting at the Wheaton Eye Clinic.
Dr. Grohe received his B.A. degree in biology from Millikin University and his Optometric degree from the Illinois College of Optometry. Before joining the Wheaton Eye Clinic, Dr. Grohe was a contact lens consultant at the Northwestern University Medical School where he currently serves as Assistant Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology for resident contact lens and optics instruction.
Dr. Grohe is a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry, and a member of the American Optometric Association, the Contact Lens section, the Illinois Low Vision Society, the National Eye Research Foundation and the National Keratoconus Foundation. He frequently speaks at professional ophthalmic organizations as well as medical and optometry schools. He also acts as a clinical investigator for new contact lens materials, solutions and products. In addition, Dr. Grohe serves on the editorial boards of seven professional publications and has authored, or co-authored, several textbooks on clinical contact lens practices.
