Ruth D. Williams, M.D., certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, a disease characterized by increased pressure in the eye. Dr. Williams provides medical and laser treatment for glaucoma.

A graduate of Rush Medical College in Chicago, Dr. Williams completed an internship at West Suburban Hospital Medical Center in Oak Park, Illinois. This was followed by a residency in ophthalmology at California Pacific Medical Center. She completed a fellowship in glaucoma at the University of California in San Francisco.

Dr. Williams is a Trustee of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She previously chaired the ophthalmology section of the American Medical Association. Dr. Williams is an Associate Examiner for the ophthalmology boards. Dr. Williams lectures on glaucoma topics to physicians and teaches courses at national ophthalmology meetings.

Dr. Williams is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, the Chicago Glaucoma Society and the National Board of Medical Examiners.
