Susan J. Anderson-Nelson M.D., certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, specializes in diseases of the retina. She performs diagnostic testing and provides medical and laser treatment for a broad range of diseases affecting the back of the eye, including diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.

Dr. Anderson-Nelson is a graduate of Rush Medical College in Chicago. She also completed her residency in Chicago at The Swedish Covenant Hospital and Northwestern Memorial Hospital. This was followed by a retina fellowship at Northwestern University.

Dr. Anderson-Nelson is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, the Illinois Medical Society, the DuPage Medical Society and the Christian Medical Society. She is an associate examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology. She is a regular contributor to retinal conferences. Dr. Anderson-Nelson is on staff at the new Core Center of Chicago and is involved in multiple research studies for the care of AIDS patients. Dr. Anderson-Nelson also teaches ophthalmology residents at Cook County Hospital.
