Excellent employment opportunities await you at the Wheaton Eye Clinic. Founded in 1942, the Clinic is the largest private ophthalmology practice in Illinois. It is a preferred referral center for doctors throughout the Midwest because it offers medical treatment in 12 ophthalmology subspecialties and is a full service provider of eye care services with ophthalmologists, optometrists, eyewear and contact lens departments. The Wheaton Clinic oversees more than 90,000 patient visits a year from locations in Wheaton, Naperville, Hinsdale and Plainfield.
Full-time Positions:
Ophthalmic Technician
Duties:
- Ophthalmic testing responsibilities include a variety of tasks.
Qualifications:
- Refraction
- Applanation Tonometry
- Humphrey Visual Fields
- Medicare compliant history taking
- OCT3, GDx, VCC, Goldmann Visual Fields and Retinal Angiography preferred
Hours:
- 40 hours per week, including some Wednesday or Thursday evenings, or Saturday mornings

Part-time Positions:
Switchboard Operator
Duties:
- Distribute all incoming phone calls
- Assist patients with directions to clinic
- Confirm doctors’ on-call sessions
- Send messages to doctors/medics
- Make appointment confirmation calls
- Cross-trained on appointments
Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service and communications skills required
- Medical office or switchboard experience preferred
Hours:
- 19 hours per week, including two Saturday mornings per month (7:45 am – 12:15 pm) and two Thursday evenings per month (11:00 am – 8:00 pm)
