Laura B.

Laura B. grew up the daughter of an optician mom who managed a large retail chain store.  Laura worked for her mom during college and, after a stint in outside sales following graduation, she soon returned to her optical career.  Today she works full time at the Wheaton Eye Clinic, splitting her time between the Hinsdale and Naperville optical department locations.

“The differences between the Wheaton Eye Clinic and other places I’ve worked are enormous,” she says.  “Here we have so many more products to work with including the  absolute latest technology from each manufacturer.  We see many more elderly patients and a lot more kids and the medical issues are really interesting.  Most ordinary optical shops don’t have post surgical patients so we have much more explaining to do here with our cataract, glaucoma or macular degeneration patients.  I appreciate the busy, fast-paced environment because at the end of the day, I really know I’ve helped lots of people.”

Entertaining friends, especially enjoying card games, is how this wife and mother spends her leisure hours.
