Michael A. Kipp, M.D.
Michael A. Kipp, M.D. specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. He concentrates his practice on the medical and surgical treatment of various childhood eye disorders including strabismus (eye misalignment) amblyopia (“lazy eye”), cataracts, glaucoma, tear duct obstructions and prematurity. He also treats adult eye muscle problems.

Dr. Kipp graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame and, with honors, from the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed an ophthalmology residency at the W.K. Kellogg Eye Center at the University of Michigan, where he served as Chief Resident. He furthered his training as the Heed Ophthalmic Foundation Fellow in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at the same institution.
Dr. Kipp is the former Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at the University of Chicago where he taught numerous residents-in-training, medical students and optometry students for over eight years. Dr. Kipp participates in clinical research of several medicines to treat eye infections and inflammation.
Dr. Kipp is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Kipp is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, the American Eye Study Club and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
