Richard G. Gieser, M.D.

Education

Dr. Gieser graduated from Wheaton College after which he received his medical degree from Baylor University in Houston, Texas. His residency was at the Illinois University Eye and Ear Infirmary and he completed a fellowship in retinal surgery at New York Hospital.

Experience

Dr. Gieser is a Clinical Professor Emeritus at Loyola Medical School. By request, Dr. Gieser also teaches abroad. He has taught at medical schools in China, India, Pakistan, Bulgaria, Romania, Nigeria, Uganda, Siberia, Afghanistan and Sudan. In 2010 Dr. Gieser was named Humanitariam Of the Year by Baylor University College of Medicine and was awarded the Outstanding Humanitarian Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology in 2000.

Dr. Gieser is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
