John Pak, M.D., Ph.D.

Specialization

Dr. Pak is double board-certified in ophthalmology and plastic surgery of the eyelids; he specializes in all areas of oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Pak is one of the few surgical specialists in the fields of ophthalmology and plastic surgery who focuses on eyelids, eyebrows, and periorbital areas.

Education

Dr. Pak earned a B.A. degree from the University of California at San Diego and received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees in the combined program at Boston University School of Medicine. He completed a general surgery internship at Northwestern Medical Center and an ophthalmology residency and oculoplastic fellowship at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary.

Experience

Dr. Pak has expertise in ptosis repair, cosmetic blepharoplasty (removal of excess, aged eyelid tissue from upper and/or lower eyelids), and in the reduction of facial wrinkles using Botox, Restylane, and collagen agents in men and women. In addition, he is specifically trained in functional oculoplastic and reconstruction surgery, for conditions such as eyelid malposition, tearing, blepharospasm, eyelid tumor, and orbital reconstruction. He has practiced at Wheaton Eye Clinic since 2006.
