Kimberly D. Blankshain, M.D.

Specialization

Dr. Blankshain practices comprehensive ophthalmology with a sub-specialization in neuro-ophthalmology. In addition to performing cataract surgery and routine eye care, she diagnoses and treats vision problems related to the brain and optic nerves.

Education

Dr. Blankshain earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Iowa. She then graduated from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. She then completed her internship at the Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati followed by ophthalmology residency at the University of Cincinnati. She then returned home to Chicago to complete her neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary.

When she isn’t in the clinic, Dr. Blankshain enjoys hanging out in her backyard with her husband, son and pet corgi or baking sweet treats in her kitchen.
