Dr. Ekdawi specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. She concentrates her practice on the medical and surgical treatment of various childhood disorders including strabismus (eye misalignment), amblyopia (“lazy eye”), cataracts, glaucoma, tear duct obstructions, prematurity and neuro-ophthalmology. She also treats adult eye muscle problems.
Dr. Ekdawi earned a B.S. degree in chemical engineering, graduating with honors from Northwestern University. She received her Medical Doctorate from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine and completed her residency, and furthered her training with a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology, from Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.
Dr. Ekdawi has been involved in research throughout her career and frequently presents her work through professional publications and presentations.
