Alan S. Jin, O.D.

Specializations

Dr. Jin practices comprehensive optometry with a specialization in contact lens fitting. His expertise encompasses a wide range of contact lens applications—from vision correction, including those with age-related difficulty seeing up close, to providing contact lens options for complex medical conditions such as keratoconus, corneal scarring, post-corneal transplant care, post-refractive ectasia, dry eye disease, and light sensitivity. He also fits cosmetic and prosthetic lenses, which can enhance or change eye color, conceal scarring, or mask eye misalignment. Dr. Jin is highly experienced in
fitting various lens types, including soft, rigid gas permeable, hybrid, and scleral lenses.

Education

Dr. Jin earned his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his Doctor of Optometry degree, with clinical honors, from the Illinois College of Optometry.

Experience

With over 14 years at the Wheaton Eye Clinic, Dr. Jin cares for thousands of contact lens patients each year. He completed clinical externships at the Veterans Affairs Southern Nevada Health Care System in Las Vegas, the Jamaica Plain Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Boston, and the Atlantic Eye Institute in Jacksonville, Florida.
