Saaquib R. Bakhsh, M.D.

Dr. Bakhsh specializes in diseases of the retina and vitreous. He provides medical, laser, and surgical treatment for a broad range of eye diseases including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, macular holes, dislocated lenses, epiretinal membranes, ocular inflammation, and retinal detachments.

Education

Dr. Bakhsh earned his bachelor’s degree cum laude in Statistics and Environmental Sciences from Northwestern University. He then obtained his medical doctorate from the Rush University College of Medicine in Chicago, IL. Following graduation, he completed his medical internship and then Ophthalmology residency at the Beaumont Eye Institute. Dr. Bakhsh furthered his training with a fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery and Disease at Indiana University in Indianapolis, IN where he was awarded Fellow of the Year for excellence in teaching and surgical instruction.

Dr. Bakhsh has numerous scientific publications, citations, and presentations on a variety of advanced ophthalmic and vitreoretinal topics. His recent work is dedicated to ending the healthcare disparities faced by our most vulnerable populations and his focus includes the interplay between socioeconomics, ethnicity, culture, environment, and public health.
