Dr. Lafayette provides comprehensive eye examinations for adults and older children. He diagnoses and treats medical diseases and disorders of the eye. His areas of surgical expertise include cataract surgery and advanced technology intraocular lens implants (ATIOL).
Dr. Lafayette enjoys using premium astigmatism-correcting and multifocal intraocular lens options. These premium lens options help patients achieve as much spectacle independence as possible. Intraoperatively, he uses the Zeiss Callisto Eye computer-assisted cataract surgery for precision markerless alignment of ATIOLs.
Dr. Lafayette earned a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology at Louisiana State University and a Medical Doctorate from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago followed by a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Chicago Hospitals.
Dr. Lafayette has served in a leadership role on Wheaton Eye Clinic’s Board of Directors for 12 of his 20 years at the clinic.
