Jeremy B. Wingard, M.D.

Jeremy B. Wingard, M.D. specializes in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma and cataracts. He performs advanced small-incision cataract surgery, including options for astigmatism correction and multifocal lens implantation. He is particularly interested in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, with expertise in Trabectome, iStent, Trab360, and the XEN gel stent. His practice also includes complex intraocular lens surgeries and a variety of laser and surgical treatments for adult and pediatric glaucoma, including SLT, CPC, goniotomy, trabeculectomy with the EX-PRESS device and glaucoma drainage shunts.

Dr. Wingard received his medical degree from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Wheaton College, earning a B.A. in Ancient Languages. Following internship in Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle, Dr. Wingard completed residency and glaucoma fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where he also served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Wingard remains involved in clinical research, recently presenting work at national meetings on the relationship between anti-VEGF injections and glaucoma development. His extensive research experience has led to numerous publications, including scholarly papers and book chapters, along with several research awards. During medical school he was granted a prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute fellowship allowing him to conduct scientific research at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Wingard is a board certified ophthalmologist by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Wingard is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the Illinois State Medical Society, and the DuPage County Medical Society.
