Martin Mullen, M.D. specializes in anterior segment surgery including cataract, LASIK, and refractive surgery.

Education

Dr. Mullen was born and raised in Elmhurst, IL.  He received his Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences with honors from the University of Chicago.  He then earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, graduating magna cum laude, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.  He completed his internship at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, which is regarded as one of the country’s most challenging residency programs, where doctors experience diverse clinical pathology and high surgical volumes utilizing the most advanced technology in ophthalmic surgery.

Experience

Dr. Mullen received advanced training in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery through a fellowship at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary of Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA where he served as Chief Fellow.

Affiliations 

Dr. Mullen is committed to providing the highest standard of care to each of his patients through personalized attention to detail, compassion, and skill. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Illinois Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.  Dr. Mullen has published and presented his research at both national and international scientific conferences.

In his free time, Dr. Mullen enjoys music, golf, and watching Chicago sports.
