Susan J. Anderson-Nelson, M.D. specializes in diseases of the retina. She performs diagnostic testing and provides medical and laser treatment for a broad range of diseases affecting the back of the eye, including diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.
Dr. Anderson-Nelson received a B.S. degree in Nursing from North Park College before graduating from Rush Medical College in Chicago. She completed her internship in Chicago at The Swedish Covenant Hospital where she was named Intern of the Year. Dr. Anderson-Nelson did her ophthalmology residency training at Northwestern Memorial Hospital which was followed by a retina fellowship also at Northwestern University.
Dr. Anderson-Nelson has been with Wheaton Eye Clinic since 1991 and has served on the Board of Directors as well as the Quality Committee. She also is on staff at Cook County Hospital teaching ophthalmology residents and medical students. She volunteered at Lawndale Christian Health Center in Chicago for 35 years. She has done
short term mission trips in Honduras and Haiti.
