Dr. Anderson-Nelson specializes in diseases of the retina. She performs diagnostic testing and provides medical and laser treatment for a broad range of diseases affecting the back of the eye, including diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.
Dr. Anderson-Nelson is a graduate of Rush Medical College in Chicago. She completed her internship in Chicago at The Swedish Covenant Hospital and her residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. This was followed by a retina fellowship at Northwestern University.
Dr. Anderson-Nelson has been with Wheaton Eye Clinic since 1991 and has served on the Board of Directors as well as the Quality Committee. She also is on staff at Cook County Hospital teaching ophthalmology residents and medical students. She volunteered at Lawndale Christian Health Center in Chicago for 35 years. She has done short term mission trips in Honduras and Haiti.
Dr. Anderson-Nelson is an associate examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology. She is a regular contributor to retinal conferences.

Dr. Anderson-Nelson has three grown children, one goofy Golden Retriever and three granddaughters. She and her husband like to hike and “bird” in their spare time.
